1. About Respectfully Remote
Respectfully Remote is a U.S.-operated freelance marketplace brand. Contact us at support@respectfullyremote.com. These terms currently govern the public informational website. Marketplace registration, hiring and payments have not opened.
2. Using this website
You may browse information about the proposed marketplace and contact us with legitimate inquiries. Do not misuse the website, interfere with its security, impersonate others or submit unlawful content. Browsing this site does not create a freelance contract, authorize a payment or establish marketplace membership.
3. Planned marketplace services
The marketplace is designed to connect verified direct clients with independent freelancers and genuine service teams delivering project work. Recruiting agencies, candidate brokers, undisclosed third-party client postings and résumé harvesting are prohibited under the proposed marketplace rules.
Project contracts will require separately accepted terms addressing scope, delivery, revisions, fees and payment. The planned client marketplace fee is 5% of the work amount, and the freelancer fee is 7%. The first 30 days of project listing visibility are planned to be free, with an optional additional 30 days for USD 4.99. There is no automatic listing renewal.
4. Project delivery and fair review
The proposed standard review period for completed work is five business days unless the project expressly agrees otherwise. Clients should approve completed work or identify specific issues within that period. Nonresponse would trigger reminders and human escalation, not automatic payment or payout.
Project agreements should identify deliverables, acceptance criteria and revision requirements. Material additional work requires agreement. The proposed default is that agreed deliverable rights transfer following confirmed full payment, subject to pre-existing materials, third-party rights and the final project contract.
5. Cancellations and conduct
Legitimate cancellation must remain available. Cancelling a project must not be used to arrange private payment for the same marketplace-originated work to evade applicable fees. Suspected misconduct requires evidence and human review; cancellation alone does not establish wrongdoing. Specific non-circumvention periods and remedies will be defined in the terms accepted before paid services open.
6. Payments and disputes
There is currently no public checkout or paid marketplace contracting. Future payment, refund, dispute, payout and country-eligibility terms will be presented before paid transactions become available. Respectfully Remote does not currently offer escrow services or guarantee payout dates. See our Refunds and Cancellations Policy.
7. Content and changes
Website content is provided for general business information. Availability, features and planned pricing may change before launch. Nothing here overrides rights that applicable law provides. We may update these website terms, with a revised effective date and additional notice where required.
